Rising Professionals & College Relations Committee Involvement:The Rising Professionals and Student Chapter Committee Members will report to the Richmond SHRM Board Director of Rising Professionals & College Relations.
Committee members will meet regularly throughout the year.
Rising Professionals: The committee will support Rising Professionals who are early in their HR career and recent college graduates with professional development and networking opportunities. Committee members will identify topics of interest and develop resources, programs and special events geared towards helping Rising Professionals develop the tools and skills they need to advance their HR career.
College Relations:
The Committee builds relationships with the faculty and students in existing SHRM student chapters and with other faculty and students generally interested in the HR profession. It develops a sustainable method for engaging students and integrating students into RSHRM, understanding that the needs of each student chapter and institution may be as different as the students in the program and may vary over time based on student needs. Each student chapter will have 1-2 dedicated volunteer liaisons that will attend student chapter meetings, interact with faculty, mentor students, and introduce students to RSHRM chapter members. The committee will also lend support student chapters who participate in SHRM’s regional/national case competitions.
