Richmond SHRM is proud to announce the launch of the IDEA Impact Award, a bi-annual award designed to recognize and honor individuals within the RSHRM community who are making significant contributions in the realm of Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Accessibility
(IDEA). This award celebrates individuals who are championing IDEA initiatives, driving meaningful change, and fostering inclusive workplaces that enhance innovation, collaboration, and organizational resilience.
Objectives
- Recognize Excellence: Identify and celebrate individuals who demonstrate outstanding commitment and achievements in promoting IDEA within their organizations and the broader HR community.
- Promote Best Practices: Highlight exemplary IDEA initiatives and strategies that can serve as models for other organizations looking to enhance their own IDEA efforts.
- Encourage Continued Efforts: Inspire and motivate other DEI/HR professionals to engage in and prioritize IDEA work, reinforcing the importance of creating equitable and inclusive workplaces.
- Raise Awareness: Increase awareness of the critical role IDEA plays in organizational success and the positive impact it has on employee engagement, retention, and overall company performance.
- Foster Community: Strengthen the Richmond SHRM community by bringing together like-minded professionals who are passionate about IDEA, providing opportunities for networking, collaboration, and shared learning.
Key Criteria for Nominees
- IDEA Leadership: Actively integrates IDEA values into organizational culture and demonstrates a commitment to creating inclusive environments.
- Meaningful Impact: Addresses biases, promotes equity, and drives measurable organizational change.
- Inspiration and Advocacy: Serves as a role mode, motivating peers to prioritize IDEA efforts and fostering a culture of inclusivity.
- Organizational Success: Demonstrates the role of IDEA in enhancing innovation, collaboration, and performance.
- Proven Experience: Leads or contributes to successful IDEA programs or initiatives.
- Association Membership: Must be an active member of Richmond SHRM.
- Innovative Practices: Develops IDEA strategies that set benchmarks for others and inspire widespread adoption.
The IDEA Impact Award recipient will receive: a complimentary registration for the 2025 Inclusion Symposium, a complimentary 1-year Richmond SHRM membership, recognition on social media, and an opportunity to highlight their work to local HR professionals
through Richmond SHRM.
Nominations are accepted both from individuals self-nominating and from those nominating others. Submit a nomination by Friday, March 21.
