Strategic Leadership Conference Volunteer Committee Involvement: Strategic Leadership Conference Committee Members will report to the Richmond SHRM Board Director of Professional Development and Certification.
The Conference is held annually in October. Volunteers are involved with the planning process from January through October and participate in regular meetings (virtual and in-person).
The Committee is responsible for planning and implementing the symposium. Areas of focus for the committee may include, but are not limited to:
Content Development: Develop theme for the conference, identify key topics for the sessions, and create opportunities for participants to share best practices and network.
Publicity:
Help publicize this key RSHRM event by coordinating RSHRM’s social media and promotional efforts for the Conference. Help develop promotional plan to include content for the website, e-Blasts, social media channels and any other marketing materials. Help identify and connect with new and untapped audiences.
Speaker Solicitation, Selection, and Care: Find amazing speakers. Solicit speaker RFPs and select session speakers. Develop compelling session titles and descriptions. Along with RSHRM staff, act as a liaison with assigned speakers to make arrangements for AV needs, travel needs, etc. Make assignments for speaker introductions and Q & A Moderators. Suggest speaker gifts.
Sponsor Solicitation and Care: Work with RSHRM staff to find sponsors for the conference. Help coordinate sponsor’s requests regarding promotion and where appropriate, act as a liaison with sponsors for any needs.
Arrangements: Work with RSHRM staff to arrange delivery format to include: in-person or virtual, studio production logistics, in-person site selection, AV/Technology coordination, site set up and take down, directional signage, registration process, food/beverage coordination, photographer, and other tasks.
