E-Learning Committee

Lifelong learning is important for leaders! One of the pillars of SHRM is "Develop the Professional”. At Richmond SHRM, we take this concept very seriously. Our E-Learning Committee is responsible for bringing excellent programming to our chapter members via e-learning channels. Essentially, you will be procuring and setting up appropriate certified webinar sessions.


Number of volunteers needed 12
 Reports to VP, Professional Advancement (Board position) via E-Learning Committee Chair
Qualifications Richmond SHRM member, SHRM or HRCI certified professional designation highly preferred
 Skills Developed HR and systems knowledge, leadership, teamwork, negotiation, organization, coordination, networking, web-event planning
 Approx. Hours per Month 2.25
 Annual Hours

Annual Planning Session: 4 - 12 (typically 4, but allowing for additional time in case follow up sessions are required)

E-Learning event for which you are responsible: 10
Assistance with E-Learning events not assigned to you: 3 (1 hour per webinar)
Various conference calls or ad hoc meetings: 3
This Committee typically meets in Q3 each year to plan speaker selection for the following year.

Currently, RSHRM is planning for quarterly webinars to be delivered through our website to members. During the annual planning session, other e-learning avenues will be explored. Each e-learning event will have a team of 3 Committee members responsible for webinar arrangements such as contacting the agreed upon speaker, negotiating speaker fees (if applicable) or purchasing access through existing webinar channels, determining systems needs and protocols, ensuring certification credits are procured, acting as or procuring a Richmond SHRM liaison to serve as webinar "host” which includes introducing the speaker at the beginning of the webinar, troubleshooting webinar registration, sign-on, or attendance issues, and coordinating attendee questions and answers, etc.

You will also participate in any required follow up afterward such as a Committee debrief or thank you note to speaker.

You may be asked to assist other E-Learning Committee teams also working to bring exceptional learning programs to Richmond SHRM members via e-learning.
