Reviewing Performance Review Pitfalls
by Andy Liguori
Dominion Payroll

We know: you saw the words “performance review” at the top of this post and started reaching for the BACK button. Not many people love performance reviews: not managers, not employees, and not HR administrators who have to organize everything in one place, especially during the end of the year which can be a hectic time for everybody.

Performance reviews shouldn’t strike fear in your workforce, though; they’re a great opportunity for your workforce to celebrate successes together and map out a strategy to tackle objectives in the coming year. You just need to know what common pitfalls to avoid. Read more »

Gray Area Thinking® with Ellie Krug
Trial Attorney, transitioned from male to female

Ellie Krug
Human Inspiration Works, LLC

About our speaker:

Ellen (Ellie) Krug, a civil trial attorney with 100+ trials, transitioned from male to female in 2009. She went on to become one of the few attorneys nationally to try jury cases in separate genders. The author of Getting to Ellen: A Memoir about Love, Honesty and Gender Change (2013), Ellie has trained Fortune 100 corporations, colleges/universities, and law firms on diversity and inclusion.

About the session:

We’ve all heard the phrase, “diversity and inclusion”, but what does it actually mean to make a workplace or organization or even our personal lives more diverse and inclusive? How can we get beyond grouping and labeling of other humans according to the color of their skin, the religion they practice, or the country in which they were born? Can we really build a just and inclusive world, especially in this time of such legitimized division?

Join national speaker and “inclusionist” Ellen “Ellie” Krug as she conducts her highly valued human inclusivity training, Gray Area Thinking®. This training will provide an easy-to-understand toolset on how to be more welcoming of anyone who is “other” in our society.

When: Wednesday, November 14
4:00 pm - 6:00 pm

Where: Hunton Andrews Kurth LLP
951 E. Byrd St.
Richmond,VA

Co-hosted by Richmond SHRM and the Association of Legal Administrators.
