Summary

The world has changed, the rules have changed. If we got a grip on COVID-19 tomorrow, we’d still have a new game to play. We face a deeper economic hole than any in the workforce has ever experienced and have a greater awareness of the force of interconnected threats - whether human viruses, cyber risks, or environmental risk.

In this discussion we strip away the drama of the news to look at the underlying trends and how we frame the decisions between short-term survive and long-term thrive. We'll consider techniques drawn from arenas like hostage survival training and full life cycle product design. We embrace that while this specific situation is unprecedented, situations like this are not - and we have a vast array of tactics that, if deployed smartly, can guide us through this. Hard issues, hard solutions, honest discussion.

Facilitator

Scott Wayne
Managing Partner
Envoy

Scott Wayne is Managing Partner of Envoy, the leading market intelligence and negotiation support firm. He leads a team in supporting clients in investigating markets in order to build partnerships and shift market behaviors. Scott learned his craft working as a British Diplomat, before moving to the private sector where he has led firms that focused on influencing human behavior. He holds undergraduate and graduate degrees in International Relations from the London School of Economics and Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service. While his work had entailed supporting government ministers, supreme court justices, military leaders, and corporate CEOs, he’s more likely to be far from the corridors of power in the field meeting with and interviewing real people making hard choices.
