Monitors HR related legislation developments at the national, state and local level using the SHRM legislative updates, attendance at SHRM's sponsored conferences and other resources. Responsibilities include:
- Coordinates networking and conference activities at the state and local level with other organizations interested in HR related legislation Briefing the VP of Community Development on current legislative developments and providing information to members as appropriate at monthly Chapter meetings
- Writing letters to national, state or local officials at the request of the President or the Board expressing the Board’s position on pending legislative issues, may arrange meetings with the officials or their staff
- Writing an article for the monthly Chapter newsletter
- Providing Chapter members with information concerning the legislative process and encourages their contact with national, state or local officials on HR related legislation.
